Girl Scout Troops 4, 5 & 6

We are 3 troops of USA-based Girl Scouts who live Atyrau, Kazakhstan. Our current girls attend either Dostyk International School or Quality Schools International - Atyrau, but in the past we have had Girl Scouts who were homeschooled and who attended a local Kazakh school. We are from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds, but we all have fun together! In the past we met together as a coed group (with Boy Scouts of America - Direct Service Council Pack 5, soon to have it's own website!), but we are now getting bigger so we have separated into 1 Cub Scout Pack (Pack 5, Direct Service Council, Boy Scouts of America) and 3 Girl Scouts Troops (Troop 4 - Daisies, Troop 5 - Brownies, and Troop 6 - Brownies/Juniors/Cadettes. We participate in many of the same activities Girl Scouts enjoy in the USA.

We have 23 girls at the moment: 8 Daisies (Troop 4), 7 Brownies (Troop 5), and 4 Brownies, 3 Juniors and 1 Cadette (Troop 6)4 Juniors (Troop 6).

Thinking Day Postcards Received

Here are many of the postcards we've received through this exchange. We're happy with our collection, which we've turned into banners, placemats, posters and books as well as just looked at and located on maps. If you are "missing" a particular location's postcard, perhaps we have it and you could download the picture to supplement your own collection.

Join the World Thinking Day Postcard Exchange

Please consider exchanging postcards with other troops around the world - it's educational, fun, and girls can form real connections with others this way. In the past girls who have met via the postcard exchange have gone on to visit each other in person and even travel together as older Girl Scouts.

To read more about this project or join the World Thinking Day Postcard Exchange go to the World Thinking Day Postcard Exchange Website.

So far in 2009, nearly 4000 units in 50 countries around the world are exchanging with each other.
